The Story of some Old Lantern Slides found in an Attic in Devon

Adrian was approached by a friend with some mouldy old lantern slides that he found in the attic of a relative in Ottery St Mary, Devon.

After close examination, Adrian realised that they were images taken by the photographer Herbert Ponting of Captain Scotts ill-fated Terra Nova Expedition in 1910 - 1913

Adrian has spent the last 8 years recreating the damaged slides pixel by pixel into a fine collection of unique prints.

The framed prints had their first public viewing in Honiton Business Centre in January 2018.

He was then invited to show them at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth in June 2018 hosted by the Devon and Cornwall Polar Society in commemoration of Scotts 150th Birthday. There he met Scotts grandson and other guests including some who travelled all the way from America for the event.
